Event Transcripts and Video
Before September 11th, few Americans had heard of the Taliban, and even fewer knew of its shocking treatment of women. Sally Armstrong, award-winning Canadian journalist and UNICEF special representative to Afghanistan, has done extensive research in that country, both during the Taliban's chaotic reign and after. Along the way, she interviewed women, recording their daily hardships and struggles. Sally will discuss Veiled Threat, a testament to what she saw in Afghanistan and the most detailed account we have of the Taliban's outrages against women.
