Off the Record Lecture Series and the FPA jointly present the Elizabeth French Hitchcock lecture. Please join us for this year's guest speaker, Lawrence H. Summers, Harvard University, former Secretary of the Treasury, United States, for his talk on "America and the Global Economy."

      Charles W. Eliot University Professor, Harvard University, former United States Secretary of Treasury

      Lawrence H. Summers in the Charles W. Eliot Professor at Harvard University. He served as the 27th President of Harvard University from July 2001 until June 2006. An eminent scholar and admired public servant, Dr. Summers has taught on the faculty of both Harvard and MIT. Dr. Summers was Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton administration (1999-2001). He has also served in a series of senior public policy positions, including political economist for the President's Council of Economic Advisers, and chief economist of the World Bank. In 1993, he received the John Bates Clark Medal, given every two years to the outstanding American economist under the age of 40. Dr. Summers received his B.S. from MIT and his Ph.D in economics from Harvard.
