Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Republic of Georgia

 

We are currently seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded agricultural value chain strengthening and competitiveness program in Georgia.  The project’s focus will be to increase agricultural productivity and strengthen linkages between farmer groups and other actors along the oilseed, hazelnut, fruit and/or vegetable value chains. To achieve this objective, technical components may include improved use of high quality inputs, increasing access to finance, improved use of rehabilitated irrigation, better use of agricultural equipment and technology, building sustainability within local organizations and strengthening linkages to markets and the private sector. The M&E Specialist responsibilities for this program may include but are not limited to the following:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and use a beneficiary tracking database system to collect, process and manage project data
  • Lead efforts in establishing and reporting on baseline data; lead efforts in collecting data and reporting on mid-term and final project targets and indicators
  • Develop indicators to monitor project progress in new areas as needed
  • Train project technical staff on how to collect and coordinate data from activities and events
  • Manage the process of project learning to ensure knowledge and learning is effectively shared and applied throughout the project’s offices and activities
  • Ensure all data is timely and up to date for all regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

 

 


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, sociology, or related field is required
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in the design and operation of monitoring and evaluation systems, preferably for USAID or donor-funded projects
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical methods practically in the complex setting of the day-to-day lives of project beneficiaries is highly preferred
  • Experience in Georgia or the Caucasus region
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills
